Happy New Year Friends! Whether you’re looking back on 2019 as one of the best, or one you want to forget…I hope you are feeling hopeful for a fresh start. I started the new year with choosing my “word of the year”, and this year it is COMMIT . I am committing to my brand, my business and myself to make 2020 my best year yet! Before I jump in and share my Top 5 – 2020 goals for Party til Dawn, I thought I would reflect on my goals I set for 2019! I am a firm believer of writing down your goals and speaking them everyday. I never publicly shared them, but I want to write them here as I want a way to be able to go back and reflect. So here goes!
2019 Goals
1.Redo my website to be self-hosted
2. Reach 35,000 instagram followers
3. Post more frequently to Pinterest
4. Create more blog content
Ok, now lets jump in to my 2020 Goals!
2020 Goals for Party til Dawn
GOAL #1 – Reach 50,000 followers on Instagram
By December 2018, I had reached 25,000 followers. I made the decision in January 2019 to no longer make party styling the focus of my account, and jump in to style & fashion. I set my goal to reach 35,000 followers by December 2019 – which I did! I spent countless hours engaging with other accounts, taking my photos up a notch, and really listening to what my followers wanted to see!
I know follower count is considered a “vanity” number to some, however, it is something I personally use to gauge my progress. So, this year, the bar is much higher…and I’m going for 50K!
Goal #2 – Make my website a MUCH bigger priority!
My goal in 2019 was to re-design my website and move it to a self-hosted platform where I had more control! I did that right at the start of the year, and created some posts…but then I primarily put all my attention on my Instagram to build that following, which is like putting all my eggs in one basket. If Instagram were to blow up tomorrow, I would lose my content…scary thought! So this year, I want to build what I own!
Goal #3 – Pitch and work with some DREAM COME TRUE brands!
I was SO fortunate to work with some amazing brands last year. I took on MANY collaborations that were payment-in-kind, and don’t regret it one bit! There is alot of talk about not working for “free”, however, by taking these type of collabs I was able to build my portfolio, discover some amazing brands, have my content re-posted on their sites which in turn all led to more followers/engagement for me! You have to create a solid foundation before you can start building your empire!
Now that I’ve laid the foundation, this year I plan to pitch brands that have been on my “dream collab” list. It’s time to step out and really go for what I want.
GOAL #4 – Build my PINTEREST
I have read enough to know Pinterst is a HUGE platform that can successfully drive engagement on ALL platforms. I really want to drive up my monthly views and make use of this tool!
GOAL #5 – Create Travel Content
One of my personal goals this year is to travel a little more. Whether that means a weekend staycation in my own city, or a girls trip to Nashville..I would love to be able to travel and create some great content in some new places!
