Believe it or not, Summer is here! It might not feel like it just yet for us here in the Pacific Northwest, but my fingers are crossed. I know many across the country have pulled out their summer wardrobes and need a few things to make them feel updated! I joined New Day NW hostess with the mostess, Amity Adrissi, and we chatted “5 items to update your Summer Wardrobe”!
We are not all running out and buying a new wardrobe every Summer, but it is fun to add something new and fresh into the mix! Below are my 5 items to update your summer wardrobe!
Straw or Raffia
I think these are Summer’s quintessential materials. I love a great French Market tote, a fun straw bag, or even finding a sandal.

Linen
We have all heard the term “coastal grandmother” by now, and to be perfectly honest, I am all in! If you are not familiar, think Nancy Myers movies, coastal towns, white wine, Ina Garten, and LINEN. Gone are the days of scratchy linen, the new version is a linen-cotton blend making it soft and comfortable!

Bright button downs
I love a button-down, and later adding in a bright color just screams Summer! It is a fun way to add a POP of color and it just makes you happy!

Colored Heels and Sandals
Maybe you’re more of a neutral lover not wanting color up by your face. Colored heels and sandals are a perfect way to jazz up a neutral outfit!

Nude Shoes
The perfect way to elongate your legs and make your shoes disappear. A nude shoe looks great with any outfit, so definitely add a flat and heeled pair to your summer wardrobe!

Tips:
- As you pull out those Summer pieces, try them on! Things might fit a little differently this year, and that’s ok! The dress you loved last year, you might not feel the same.
- Take inventory! Do you need a new pair of white shorts? Do you have an easy no-fail little black dress? Shopping is easier if you know what you are lacking!
- Look at those shoes! Are the toes and heels of sandals looking a little “rough”? Is there a style that you seemed to reach for the most? Maybe you need that style in another color!
Getting dressed should be fun, and finding a few new pieces to add to your closet will make Summer just a little more fun!
