Summer is quickly coming to a close, but I had one more party to throw before we move into my favorite season of the year. I love gathering friends and family together, and my Father-in-law’s birthday was the perfect reason to host a Seafood Boil!!
I love a nautical party, and this palette had that feel with a touch of turquoise!
When I start planning my tablescapes, I get my color pallate together, and for me, these plates and napkins from Oriental Trading set the stage! I then began walking through my home and gathering anything that has a seaside feel or were in the colors I needed!
My first table layer was, of course, plastic tablecovers and a cute red and white check plastic runner, that make cleanup a breeze after a dinner like this! I don’t want my guests worrying about dripping butter on my tablecloths!
Adding the wood plate chargers to my tablescape add the extra layer I was looking for. I used cloth napkins with a paper napkin and tied up with twine.
Each guest had a bucket at their place setting with a crab cracker and utensils…and once the eating was underway, the buckets were the perfect vessels to hold all the discarded shells.
Using a large boil pot, we cooked our meal outside on the patio while visiting with our guests!
This dinner party turned out to be one of my most favorite hosted parties. The laid back summer vibe was perfect for an evening of fun and eating!!
Have you hosted any fun summer parties this year?
xoxo~Dawn
