Well there is no doubt winter is on it’s way! As the temps start to drop, the warmer pieces from our wardrobe begin to emerge. This is always the time I find the “holes” in my basics that either I need or need replacing. There are always a trend piece or two that I “need” but classic quality pieces are really the staples.
Timeless classics are something I have come to embrace more as I’ve gotten older. A great wool coat or a classic black sweater will always be in style. Appleseed’s is the authority on New England classic style, so it was easy to find a couple pieces to add to my wardrobe that will be staples for years to come!
The first piece on my list was a black wool coat. I have plenty of casual puffers, but really wanted a longer length tailored coat. This Larry Levine Updated black wool coat is exactly what I was looking for! The cut on this one is definitely flattering on everyone! It looks great styled with jeans and booties, but is perfect for a more formal outfit of dresses or skirts.
Nothing says “timeless” like a black sweater, and let’s be honest, can you really ever have too many? I love this Long-Sleeve Mockneckmock classic. It is not too high and has a back zip so it is easy to get on and off. I think it looks fantastic with a fun faux leather skirt or on the weekend with jeans and a pair of sneakers. This one is cashmere-soft and comes in several colors…a perfect staple piece!
One of my other favorite updates, especially now at the Holidays, are my pajamas! I love finding fun prints and styles this time of year! I know lots of cozy nights are on my agenda this season, so these CUTE Plaid Flannel Pajamas were exactly what I was looking for! I love a classic plaid, and this red is my favorite! These are a brushed flannel inside and out, so they are the perfect softness! These will be on heavy rotation I’m sure 😉
