I had the pleasure of styling a Retirement/70th Birthday party for a Client’s husband.
He was a philosophy professor and the two of them have traveled the world. They have collected many exotic treasures that mean so much to each of them.
We decided that this party should be about what Mr. F loves and means the most to him…afterall it is about him!
So, that is what we did!
You won’t always see a dessert table with an animal skin but wow does it make a statement!
I let one of the Granddaughters write on the candy jar tags…and I LOVE the personal touch she added to this Celebration!
One of my favorite elements were the paper boats I ordered from Etsy!
Mr. F loves fishing, so the boats were perfect to hold nuts and candies, and we had them made in atlas and dictionary pages which spoke to the professor in him!
The venue for this event was our local golf course…and it is a little gem!
The room has a great view, great wood and lights, and I personally love the chairs…and it really worked well with our decor!
We had 10 tables to create centerpieces for, so I had my client gather things that they have picked up on their travels, books, pictures, and anything else that shared a piece of their history.
Fresh flowers from the farmers market were the perfect finishing touch!
I loved this party…I love the sentiment behind it.
I think my “style” is definitely becoming more defined.
I love creating events that are personal, and share a little
something about the person being celebrated!
Loved seeing all the details in all your photos! Great job Dawn!!
Congratulations Dawn- what a great event–beautiful decorations and the food looks yummy too! I’ve been following your blog & Instagram for a little while. We too adopted our daughter from China. Taylor is almost 16 and the light of our lives. We just had our 15 yr China travel group reunion and it was such a delight to see the girls as young women! Well ,at least all American teenage girls! Your little Lucy is adorable- Taylor and I love her fashion You Tube posts! Enjoy every minute – guess all the boys are home too this summer! We are heading to Martha’s Vineyard and I’m hoping to meet Pam Du for coffee (Or Wine🍷🍷) someday! Have fun this summer, Nancy

Hi Nancy!! I love that you took the time to comment! There is something so special about these girls isn’t there?? I love that you have a travel group that you celebrate with…we traveled alone, but luckily we have close friends in our neighborhood who also adopted from China, so we celebrate CNY with them! As much as I want Lucy to love her Chinese heritage, all she wants is to be an American girl, so it is funny that you mentioned that about your girl 🙂 Yes, all boys home for the summer, I love it!! OH how lucky to get to meet up with Pam!!! She is one of my best friends I have never met 🙂 if you do, please give her an extra hug from me! Happy Summmer to you!! xo
