Happy Spring Friends! Ready or not in your neck of the woods, Spring fashion is in full swing! Over the weekend Lucy and I attended a fun Spring Fashion Event with Macys and my friends at Gossip & Glamour and Styled Seattle.
One of the “perks” of getting older and being an over 40+ blogger, is that people don’t expect you to follow all the trends. Some trends….well they need to stay with the younger girls, and then there are some that can be left to interpretation for anyone which is a lot of fun. The Spring trends for this year are perfect for any age in my opinion and some of my favorites! So let’s get started!
Leather Jacket / the color Blush
One of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe is my black faux leather jacket. I have had mine for 2+ years and it’s a staple (see what I wore to the show..not kidding) It was on the runway again over this gorgeous Blush (IT color for the season) dress. So don’t stick that baby in the back of your closet…keep it front and center and pair it with everything!
The Bomber Jacket / Pattern Mixing
The bomber jacket is another great ageless piece this year. You can find them in solids, satins, florals and lace! Pair it with jeans to skirts they look adorable.
Pattern mixing is one of my favorite trends, and I have been doing for years! As Jennifer Lovin from Jenniferlovin.com shared, the key is to find a common color palette and it naturally binds the patterns together. In the photo below the theme of black and white in the stripe skirt and the floral bomber makes this outfit work perfectly!
The Utility Jacket
Again, another trend that I’ve been wearing non-stop! Olive green is a perfect neutral and works with everything. The utility jacket is light and gives the perfect additional layer to a jeans and tee outfit.
Statement Sleeves
I love this one! I have a few tops in my closet with amazing sleeves, and they are so fun! They look great with a simple skirt, jeans or a great pair of trousers like the ones below.
Florals Florals Florals
Enough said? Dresses, blouses, bomber jackets, shoes…florals are everywhere! I have yet to get anything in this print, but I know there will be something!
So, what do you think? Are these some trends that you can see yourself working into your wardrobe and style??
